Who are you?

My name is Adriana, best known as Aki.
I'm 18 years old and I'm currently studying my career to become a Designer.
I always liked to draw and paint, I've also liked the manga style since I was in elementary school.

What is your artistic passion?

Like I wrote before, my passion has been drawing and painting since I was a kid.
I used to paint in oils as a hobby when I was like 8 years, but then I started to prefer the animation and wanted to become a cartoonist, I remember that I wanted to grow up an be an animator for big companies like cartoon network, nickelodeon, or even pixar.
...everybody laughed at me.
Nowadays I'm more focused on illustration and graphic design, but I still like animation and wish to learn more of it in a serious way.

Why did you get into art?

Because part of my family dedicated his life to art, like my grandparents.
I had interest, so I started to paint landscapes with oils, and I liked it but one day I stopped...I still don't know why and want to come back someday.

In other hand, I've been drawing since always, starded with doodles, the TV came to my house and it as fabulous, I made (crappy) fanart of almost every single show I used to watch, my favorites to draw were the power puff girls and the teenage mutant Ninja turtles xD
Then, Sakura card captors and pokemon came.
I really fell in love with the style and started to imitate it, improving very very slow I must say, I started to like anime shows, know more about them and began to adopt that style to my own creations too.

But I never considered cartoons, anime, or manga as "art" ultill I joined DA.
it changed my way to see things, and I really think that I improved faster thanks to being in a site among with amazing artists, it make me want to become better.
I also met awesome people, and learned a lot from them.

How do you inspire yourself?

you cannot force the inspiration, it just comes, in my case...
I get inspired with a good song or writing, also with rainy days, lately I get inspired when I have enough time for myself, when no one says what I should draw or how. I like to turn on the music, grab a pen and start to draw the first thing that comes to my mind, based on an idea, feeling or memory.

Where would you like to see yourself in 5 years?

first of all, being happy. then, Graduated.
Moving foward, still improving.
I would like to have a job, doing what I like, but having enough money to live and solve my own expenses.
I want to find my own style, something more original to define myself better, and make people recognize me as a real artist.
